The Victorian Development of the Clifton, Montpelier and Powis Estates of Brighton.

Book by Steve Myall

This book on the Clifton, Montpelier and Powis area of Brighton is, to date, the only published history of the development of Brighton's first and most important Victorian residential area. It illustrates most of the Victorian engravings of the area, and is available at City Books, and elsewhere in Western Road bookshops.

This book is fantastic. As a new resident in the area with a keen interest in its history, I've found it fascinating. I'd definitely reccommend it!

My book on the Clifton, Montpelier & Powis area is now out of print - so many thanks to everyone who took the trouble to buy a copy. In collaboration with the Brighton historian Andy Grant, I am writing another book on 'The Chroniclers of Brighton' - C19th Brightonians who either wrote about, or published engravings of, Brighton, but it is a year or two away from publication at present.
