The Spike Wells Trio (Spike Wells, drums, Mark Edwards, piano, and Andy Cleyndert, bass) return to St Nick’s to bring the festival to a rousing conclusion with an evening of chamber, acoustic jazz in the trio setting with a blend of original compositions and fresh arrangements of hymns and standard show tunes. The repertoire typically includes Softly as in a morning sunrise arr. Edwards, Walsingham Matilda arr. Wells, All the things you are by J Kern, Sister Cheryl by Tony Williams, All blues by Miles Davis, Old folks, Gee baby, ain’t I good to you, What’s it all about, Alfie?
