Jazz at St Nick’s with Jim Mullen, Terry Seabrook (piano), Dan
Sheppard (bass) and Sara Oschlag (vocals).
Glasgow-born jazz guitarist Jim
Mullen gained an avid fan base during
the 80s with jazz funk band
Morrissey-Mullen, but it is his work in
straight ahead jazz that has made him a
‘legend’. Winner of many jazz awards (he
has been nominated for the
Parliamentary Jazz Musician of the Year 2012) Jim’s recent recordings with
The Great Wee Band and his Jim Mullen Reunion Band have both enjoyed
critical acclaim.
Terry Seabrook studied music at Sussex University and jazz in NY.
He has recorded and performed with his own Latin group Cubana
Bop and appeared with a variety of Latin-jazz artists. The Terry
Seabrook Trio currently features Spike Wells on drums and Paul
Whitten on bass.
Dan Sheppard came to Brighton in 1994 to pursue a career as a jazz
bassist. He has worked relentlessly on the local scene and all round the UK
with some of the country's finest.
Danish jazz singer Sara Oschlag adopted Brighton as her hometown in
2003. Since then she's carved a niche in the local scene and further abroad,
garnering plenty of praise along the way with her captivating voice.
